Olamide Plans To Release Five Albums In 2015

YBNL Boss and Baddoo of Life Olamide in an exclusive interview with FNN revealed that he was ready to keep releasing hit songs and albums to Nigerians, especially as he was on track to drop five hot new albums this year.
This is in addition to the over a hundred songs he already has to his credit and three albums in just less than five years.
According to Olamide, he is so passionate about music that he feels he owes Nigerians a responsibility to release new tracks very frequently, and he is doing everything within his power to fulfil the responsibility.
When he was asked whether he didn’t feel that he was disturbing Nigerians by obliging them to download new songs every week, he countered by saying that he is not forcing anybody to listen to his tracks, as the tracks were capable of selling themselves.
“I do not force anybody to listen to or download my songs. if you want to hear them, good. if not, carry your bad belle oshi away to another place. whether you listen or not I will still make my money’

Don Jazzy, Wale, Olamide & Reekado Banks New Single Allelú Drops Today

The fire jam has already been titled “Allelú“ and it features some of the Industry’s best and finest acts including leader of the Supreme Mavin Dynasty, Don Jazzy and category winner for The Headies 2014 Rookie of the Year, Reekado Banks; YBNL’s lead act, Olamide Baddo and U.S based rapper (with Nigerian roots),Wale.
Allelú will be premiered exclusively on Beat FM’s The Midday Show with Toolz and will be released officially at 2pm.

D’banj kicked off what he has said will be a year-long celebration of his 10thyear anniversary as an entertainer in the industry.

The kick-off party hosted by Amber Rose held at Oceanview Restaurant in Victoria Island, Lagos. And it was with a good turn out of popular pop stars at the event.

Though they all came late including the host and special guest, they turned up for the DB Records boss regardless. New school acts like Wizkid, Olamide,Phyno, Davido, Oritshemi, Praiz, Seyi Law, BankyW, Seyi shay, Shaydee and a few others turned upfor D’banj and it was a swell time for guests.

Who says Nigerian music isn’t rising? Then you must be a smello!

International awards and such aside, our music is getting its fair share… loads of  international attention if the iTunes music chart is anything to go by. At the moment, Nigerians are dominating the world album chart with Olamide’s StreetOT at the No.1 spot followed by MI, Asa and Wizkid who’s albums are in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots respectively.

Not about to be left out, Timaya’s Epiphany also snags the 10th slot on the chart thus, 5 out of the top 10 albums are proudly Nigerian.

Olamide Explains Motive Behind Fourth Album In 4 Years

Nigerian rapper, Olamide is gearing up for the extraordinary streak of releasing his fourth album in 4 years.

The new album by the self styled Baddest guy ever liveth, is scheduled to be released in November 2014 and titled Street OT.

In a chat with NET, Olamide has explained why he changed his mind about dropping yet another album this year despite saying he would not release new album at the beginning of the year.

The Ogun State-born rapper said: ‘Na the marketers o, they called me up and said there’s a high demand for a new album from me after I dropped the ‘Story for the gods’ single, so they called me up to come up with something for them and in one week I got the album ready’.

Speaking further, Olamide made it clear that releasing hits after hits is not a problem for him, saying he’ll keep dropping new albums as long as marketers are willing to pay for it.

‘As long as marketers want to pay, I’ll keep dropping new albums, I can even drop (an) album every six months too.’

Talk about a traditional ruler that has been making headlines for his lavish lifestyle and his choice of wives everywhere he goes, then you’re definitely talking about the Alaafin of Oyo.

While many youths might not fancy having more than one wives, Olamide has come out to say he wants to be like the Alaafin while he shared the photo above of the traditional ruler via his instagram page.

Olamide Defends Wizkid, Says He Recorded ‘Omo To Shan’ For Free

Wizkid came under heavy criticism from his colleagues headlined by former producer Samklef and budding singer Saeon. Samklef had questions over Wizkid’s personality while Saeon claimed Wizkid charged her excessive sum of N1.5million for a feature and refused to promote her song… Afteral Wizkid said he doesn’t charge for collaborations.

A fan asked Olamide how much he (Wiz) charged for their 2011 collaboration ‘Omo To Shan’, Olamide responded “He did it for free .. Let my nigga b great”.

While this may be the true, it might also be an attempt by Olamide to help protect his friend Wizkid from more criticism.
