Wow!! Nigerian Musicians Get N90m From COSON

coson Wow!! Nigerian Musicians Get N90m From COSON

The Oranmiyan Hall of Lagos Airport Hotel was bustling at its seams this past Tuesday, December 16, 2014 as musicians of all generations from every nook and cranny of Nigeria stormed the COSON Extraordinary General Meeting.

From the likes of the iconic Dan Maraya Jos, Chris Ajilo, Laolu Akins et al to the magical Majek Fashek, OJB Jezreel, Azeezat, Black O’ Rice, Kenny St Best, the atmosphere was that of a carnival as gaily dressed musicians back slapped each other.

According to Nigeria Films, the musicians, young and old had gathered to approve the distribution of the sum of N90,000,000 to music industry right holders across Nigeria.

Following the approval, the distribution commenced immediately.

Delivering his address at the event, COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji announced that the sum of N90,000,000 (Ninety Million Naira) is an 80% increase on the sum of N50,000,000 (Fifty Million Naira) which the society distributed in 2013.

Speaking on the society’s plans to significantly increase its distributable income, Chief Okoroji called on the Federal Government to hasten the implementation of the Copyright Levy Scheme saying it is crucial to the survival of the music industry in Nigeria.

This is the 4th consecutive time since its approval in 2010 that COSON has lived up to its mandate in ensuring that right owners are adequately compensated with what is their due.

Etcetera fires another shot at Tiwa Savage's marriage troubles

Musician and writer,Etcetera, is a brave man as he once again takes a pot at Tiwa Savage. We all remember the fight on social media between Tiwa Savage,TeeBillz her husband and Etcetera when the latter supposedly took a pot at the married couple in his article talking about second hand
husbands etc.Well ,Tiwa Savage was not happy about that and she along with her hubby TeeBillz blasted Etcetera in the press, calling him a failed musician and all sorts.

You would have thought after all that,Etcetera will avoid any more confrontations. But nah, this man is unrelenting. His latest article clearly takes a swipe at Tiwa Savage again judging by the title. The title of his later article in the Punch Newspaper say: "The Savage of Nigerian celebrity Marriages" hahahahah..you must admit this guy is ingenious, but even Stevie Wonder knows who he is clearly talking about here.See how Etcetera cleverly used the name of Tiwa Savage in the equation,,Chai..trouble looming?I never would have thought musician Etcetera, would fire another shot at Tiwa Savage's marriage after their initial wahala.

Unfortunately Tiwa Savage is having relationship issues in her marriage right now.Part of what was rumoured to be the cause of her troubles is Tee Billz her husband hitting her, infidelity and he stealing her money.Like i said these are all rumours .
Below is the article published in the Punch today by Etcetera.Lets hope it's not gonna open another can of worms and generate a reaction from Tiwa Savage or TeeBillz.

The Savage of Nigerian celebrity Marriages-by Etcetera.
Our female celebrities should admit that they are horrible at choosing their men. And as a celebrity, destroying your man publicly makes you look stupid because you are the one who chose to be with him in the first place. Most of you ladies want a perfect man because you have a natural need to want to fix something about him.

And when it fails, of course, it becomes his fault for being who he always was. Even if the guy you married was the most disgusting pig in the whole universe, you should admit that lowering your standards so severely was your choice.
Every divorce is built on those things that were created during courtship.

It is during this time that the future of a marriage is decided. If you don’t have the ability to analyse what was injected into your brain during those few critical years or months of courtship, then whatever happens in your marriage is your funeral, not ours.

Must all celebrities publicly play the blame game at the end of their marriages, assigning blames like football fans after a bad match day? Must they turn their divorces into a bride versus groom contest with their fans taking sides? Trust the Nigerian press and bloggers who are ever too quick to join the accusation bandwagon to exonerate their preferred spouse without proper investigation.

I wonder why Naija Bet hasn’t thought of adding a slot on their platform for forecasting the longevity of celebrity marriages in Nigeria. It is much easier to predict how long a Nigerian celebrity marriage will last these days than the scoreline of a Chelsea FC versus Arsenal FC match.

When you get right down to the root of most celebrity divorces, you will discover it all boils down to one simple conclusion to which most females adhere: their men are always at fault. The guilt and punishment are simply assigned to whoever happens to have the penis. Haven’t you all redefined coincidence, with all your husbands accused of domestic violence?

Where are the pictorial evidences to back up your accusations? Have all Nigerian men all of a sudden become monsters? Most female celebs now seem to be focused on exposing their husbands or catching them red-handed? Not knowing that the more they take that route, the more convinced they become that their husbands are really cheating.

The language of most journalists and bloggers (infidelity experts) out there centres on one theme: “catch, prove and divorce”. Yes your husband erred, but why let the world know? Does his trial at the public court make you feel good? Do you feel any more righteous by making him the villain and you the good guy?

Stop acting like your secrets are finally out; everyone knows that your partner didn’t just start having an affair. It is the obvious truth that most celebrity marriages are built on adultery, and whatever adultery joins together, adultery shall put asunder. Your emotions wouldn’t be in turmoil today if you had listened to your gut feelings yesterday. But my dear, before you decide to take the road of divorce to wherever it may lead, you must first consider the real cost of going that route.

This is because If you choose to get a divorce without knowing the real reason your husband cheated on you in the first place, you’d just be circling around the same problem instead of fixing it and preventing it from happening in the future. Put your emotions aside for a moment and ask yourself, why on earth would your husband fall into the arms of another woman when he has a caring, compassionate and loving woman at home?

Ask yourself where you went wrong. Maybe the reason you had a cheating husband was because he had a set of needs that you were unable to fulfill because of your gallivanting lifestyle as a celebrity. The blame often starts within the walls of your mind and results in you holding him responsible for the collapse of the marriage. At this point, nothing he says could ever provide an adequate answer, but you just keep asking the same questions over and over again. People should also know that in most celebrity divorces, not all blames come from within.

Some of the most painful and damaging blames come from people outside the marriage, who feel they need to pass judgments. To the press and bloggers having a swell time with every celebrity divorce, I hope you know that it’s very easy to lay blames when you’re on the sidelines. You are acting like a spectator at a football match with a bird’s-eye view of all the action, while those playing on the field get consumed by the waves of emotions that accompany their divorce.

To our female celebrities, whenever you find yourself wanting to lay those blames, please relax for a moment and think about the appropriateness of the blames. Think about the consequences of your accusations. Try to examine the situation from multiple viewpoints.

And to you husbands who are being blamed, especially after you have cheated or been mistaken to have cheated, please understand that your women are lashing out because of their fears and insecurities. And as a man, there is a great level of maturity in accepting responsibility for your behaviour and taking the blame for your actions. Divorce is a winless game that is best not played. In Onyeka Onwenu’s voice, may there be peace in our homes. Amen.

Musician and writer,Etcetera, is a brave man as he once again takes a pot at Tiwa Savage. We all remember the fight on social media between Tiwa Savage,TeeBillz her husband and Etcetera when the latter supposedly took a pot at the married couple in his article talking about second hand

The Real Reason Tiwa Savage Fired Teebillz As Her Manager

Tiwa Tee Billz Money Issues! The Real Reason Tiwa Savage Fired Teebillz As Her Manager

Tiwa and Teebillz do have issues but it’s not related to cheating or beating her as speculated by some. It’s money issues . Teebillz is reportedly dipping his hands into her funds. It is  said reportedly because though I’m 99.9% sure of Naijaloaded source, there is still. 1% left to chance.
According to a Naijaloaded source, Teebillz has not been accountable as regards the actual performance fees he receives on her behalf. As her husband /manager and also boss of her record label 323 entertainment,Tiwa left all negotiations to him. He would tell her he collected a certain amount and because she trusts him,she doesn’t bother to verify. So he has been ripping her off for a while.
My source mentioned an incident with Hiptv boss Ayo Animashaun. He agreed to pay them N2m for the live coverage of their dubai wedding. He then paid Teebillz about N1.5m and Teebillz didn’t tell Tiwa he collected the money.
A while after the wedding, a furious Tiwa called Ayo, raising dust and raining insults on him for not paying them. He had to prove to her he paid Teebillz after she had sworn she trusted him, he couldn’t lie to her .
She was embarrassed when she found out her husband had collected the money without her knowledge. It took the intervention of the current NFF chairman, to settle the issue and appease the aggrieved Hiptv Boss.
That is just one instance. But she had recently found out he had been doing that regarding so many other shows. She was hurt and betrayed hence his replacement with another manager, Meccamillions..
Tiwa had openly said Teebillz believed in her when no one did.She said he sponsored her first video,Kele Kele . She even reportedly gives him her credit card ..
Despite their show of solidarity, they are still not in good terms and Tiwa may need some time to get over the betrayal. We all know it means she may find it hard trusting him with her business anymore.
Already, her new manager accompanies her to events and before you interview her, you have to go through him.
Sometimes, Love/family and business isn’t a good mix. Beyonce and her father are a perfect example.

Actress Ronke Ojo-Gbolahan aka Ronke Oshodi-Oke says she regrets not completing her education to the University level and now wants to return to school.

“My big regret is not going back to school as I had wanted to. I have been planning to return back to school for quite a long time but when you are making money, seeing yourself being celebrated here and there, you will feel on top of the world.

But you are nothing without completing your education. So that’s the bold step I want to take now. So it’s going to be fun.

I don’t want to agree it’s going to be difficult. I really want to go back to school and I mean it this time around” she told Encomium magazine…
