If you have been online for sometimes now you would have either come across Linda Ikeji’s Blog or heard about it. She and her blog was the biggest thing online in Nigerian before the take down.
The blog was ranking the 10th most visited website in Nigeria beating most of the top businesses and newspaper companies online with HUGE advertising budget.
Linda Ikeji Reasons Why Linda Ikejis Blog was SHUT down #LindaIkeji
Linda Ikeji’s attitude towards her blog is not business like at all, she was never prepared for success even though she had been successful at her craft for years. With a blog that BIG Linda chooses to stick with Google’s blogger which is a free platform and as it is in the case of online, every free stuff comes with strong policy for its usage.
Linda Ikeji which is the biggest thing online never thought it wise or see the need for her to set up her own team of reporters to get exclusive news and interviews even though most celebrities and whoever would gladly grant her interview .
Linda Ikeji had gotten to a stage in her career where she could command respect and get whatever she wants but she fails to do so.
Here’s what happened to Linda.
Some guys have been on Linda Ikeji for many years now hating on her and getting really mad as to why a Linda would be so successful at Blogging,
They have tried different means to bring down her blog but it all failed.
According to Linda Ikeji, the guys spammed her comment box so that Google who originally owned her Blog will take it down but instead for Google to ditch the blog it just took down her adsense account so that she can’t earn through it which they later re-installed.
All that went but these guys didn’t stop. They Kept going at it.
Few months back Linda Ikeji bought a Range Rover Sport 2014 for 24 Million Naira which she flaunts on her blog as usual. The moment these guys saw it they now went all hard on Linda reporting her to Google that she copied contents from their website and this is one of the things Google frown at but instead for Linda to take action she went on her Blog and did a post about the guys who have been wanting to bring down her blog and now the Blog is finally down, the guys have succeeded.
Linda Ikeji also agreed she copies contents from other peoples website and give link back to establish that the content is not originally hers, she went further to state that other BIG sites in the world too copy stuff from other people.

According to a blogger Uduak uduok The guys who went after Linda Ikeji attacked her from both sides (Bulldog attack) they registered all the domain names Linda Ikeji could use if she decides to move to a proper website. Like; Lindaikeji.net and Lindaikeji.com.
Instead for Linda to have written that last post she wrote exposing the guys she should have done the following.
She should have registered a new domain, maybe TheLindaIkeji’sBlog.com or something and head over to a paid platform where she would be respected more and given more space to react other than Google who is out to keep its platform clean and make sure the web is save.
Move her blog over so that she can keep her contents that she built for years.
Even if LindaIkeji decides to start all over again she will have to start afresh with top quality contents that she can lay claims to but the good thing is that she has her social media accounts like twitter and the rest intact where she can always announce her new blog to users.
Am convinced she will be bigger than she was if she choose to start all over again and am also hoping Google will release her blog back because Lnda Ikeji represents hope to a lot of young bloggers in Nigeria.

Update: Google explains why it shut down Linda Ikeji’s Blog

Google’s Manager for Communications and Public Affairs, Anglo-Phone West Africa, Taiwo Kolade-Ogunlade, in a chat with Punch newspaper, explained why the blog was taken down.
He said Google takes the issue of copyright seriously, adding that the company belongs to a group of Internet firms that abides by the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other applicable copyright laws.
“To respect the rights of copyright holders, Google clearly spells out how users of its products and services can get permission to use someone else’s intellectual property such as text, songs, images and footages. Google is no respecter of anybody when it comes to the issues of copyright infringement.
“Google as an organisation takes issues of copyright seriously and belongs to a group of digital companies that respect copyrights.
“Copyright is a big deal and this is why you can’t just go and pick up another person’s intellectual property or content and lay claim to its ownership.
“It is not a case of witch-hunting and has nothing to do with Linda Ikeji’s personality or anyone else because there is a process, and irrespective of who you are in the world, that process would apply to you.
“It has become imperative for online entrepreneurs to respect the rights of copyright holders noting that the Internet community should be built on mutual trust and general respect.
“Let’s respect other people’s rights and intellectual property. Making money off other people’s content without permission is wrong. Although the Internet is inanimate, it is the content on it that gives it life. These are the issues.
“Whenever owners of online contents come after you accusing you of using their content, it is because they have families to feed and businesses to sustain.
“People should also understand that copyrights does not only apply to text, but also extends to literary works, images and photographs, music files and MP3s, movies, movie trailers and videos as well as software”, Kolade-Ogunlade explained.
